Ali Omar, a local fisher man from the Kenyan Island of Lamu asked Swiss Photographer Daniella Bleattler for a job in 2008. They are now the owners of one of Lamu’s most well known businesses.
Products range from high-end handbags and paintings from old dhow sails, fishing materials or anything else that washes up on the shores of Lamu. The business now employs over 30 full time staff however at times there are in the range of 70 people employed to meet demand for their handmade products.
Ali Lamu has distribution partnerships throughout the world helping them market their products.
